Abstract

In our country, campaigns for Legal, Safe and Free Abortion have gained notoriety in the last few years. The Argentine protocol in force for the comprehensive care of persons entitled to legal termination of pregnancy (updated in 2019), specifies that any pregnant person can apply for this practice without the need for authorization when the pregnancy represents danger to a woman's life or health, or when the pregnancy is due to rape. We consider that it is relevant to address abortion from an ethical perspective that transcends ideological and moral issues, while leading to the development of new questions. This is a complex public health problem, which makes it necessary to integrate the different spheres of reproductive life through sex education, family planning and access to safe abortion. We will put forward some guidelines for the implementation of a reproductive rights counselling and legal termination of pregnancy clinical device in order to provide access to information to health users and a space of careful listening for process of taking the decision.
