PSIQUIATRIZAÇÃO DO CORPO DA MULHER:
RESISTÊNCIA ANTIMANICOMIAL E FEMINISTA NA ATUALIDADE BRASILEIRA
Abstract
The women’s psychiatrization processes denounced the persistent normatization of the female body nowadays. The present research aimed to understand the women’s psychiatrization process, with special attention to the experiences of women who are assisted in a Psychosocial Care Center in Paraná-Brazil. Therefore, the research was divided into three moments: participant observations in therapeutic workshops aimed at female-users; interview with two health service’s users; interview with three professionals from the interdisciplinary teamwork. For analysis, were developed narratives which exposed the experiences of women, and, through thematic categories, the professionals' reports were encompassed. The analysis showed structural violence and sexism, besides setbacks and anti-asylum’s advances in the daily of the mental health device. It was concluded that female’s psychiatrization can be overcome by breaking with the asylum paradigm and the replacement of a fragmented and patriarchal performance with psychosocial and feminist care.
