Nomofobia (miedo a perder el celular) y su relación con tres variables sociodemográficas
Abstract
The cell phone, as an indispensable technological device for humans today, has a negative dimension that translates into multiple emerging research objects, nomophobia being one of them. This study aims to determine the prevalence of fear of losing the cell phone and its relationship with the variables sex, age and main activity carried out; this with the explicit intention of advancing in a descriptive and sociodemographic profile of the fear of losing the cell phone. To achieve this objective, a correlational, cross-sectional and non-experimental study was carried out through the application of the Barraza Nomophobia Scale to a non-probabilistic sample of 251 participants from the state of Durango, Mexico. The results obtained indicate that more than 80% of the surveyed population has a fear of losing their cell phone, while the specific level of nomophobia only occurs in 2.4% of the population. Likewise, it was established that women, young people and those who study as their main activity are those who are most afraid of losing their cell phone. It concludes by stating the need to continue with further studies in this regard.
