Sigmund Freud por José Ingenieros: un análisis de Histeria y Sugestión (1919).
Abstract
This article has the purpose of analyzing the reception of Freudian theory in Argentina during the early 20th century through the book Histeria y Sugestión by José Ingenieros. This work is developed by questioning the place of hypnotism and suggestion as sources of access to knowledge and intervention of the hysterical nosologic case. The question, which was a central issue in the field of medical science at the time, is answered from a perspective that fluctuates between quackery and a medical-scientific discourse. This variety is developed under a positivist model of thought which shaped the group of theories of a spirit dominated by evolutionism.
