To this end, a narrative investigation of the scientific literature available in the Scielo and PubMed databases was carried out. Evidencing the interrelationship between geriatric Bipolar Affective Disorder and neurological functioning, with the disorder being a factor that can worsen cognitive deficits in the elderly.
