Abstract

Review study. Objective: to reconstruct the discussion tree of the psychoanalysis of sexual diversity. Method: Search with the Boolean operators "psychoanalysis" and "gender", with the application "The Tree of Science". Five groups of articles were obtained: the root, made up of texts by classic references such as Freud and Butler, the trunk, made up of studies by later classical authors, and three branches, made up of networks of researchers who, due to their thematic affinities, give priority to classical authors. . The application used ensures that the review deals with the most cited studies and, therefore, discussed by the academic community. Results: some of the Freudian texts continue to be references in this field: "Three essays on Sexual Theory", "On Feminine Sexuality", "on the psychogenesis of a case of female homosexuality" and "mourning and melancholy". Judith Butler brings to the psychoanalytic theory of sexual diversity the importance of interdisciplinary dialogue with philosophy, the social sciences, aesthetics, and politics. In the stem and branches of the tree, the incidence of the feminist movement and the ethical, aesthetic and political position of the authors are eloquent. Discussion and conclusions: psychic reality, identity and trauma are problems that remain fully valid, in terms of geographical locations, New York City stands out, the most relevant school of thought is Relational Psychoanalysis and the most prominent journals are Journal of the American Psychoanalytic Association and Psychoanalytic Dialogues.
