Violência contra estudantes mulheres na graduação e pós-graduação: questões de gênero no contexto universitário

Abstract

This research aims to map situations of gender violence against undergraduate and graduate students in a brazilian public university. For this, emails were sent with the invitation so that university students could answer an electronic questionnaire about having witnessed and/ or experienced situations of gender violence at the university, which resulted in 67 responses. The main forms of violence cited were: harassment, forced kiss, verbal aggression for gender reasons, pickup line with sexual content, sexually inappropriate invitation, sending images without permission and exchanges of favors. The research shows the occurrence of violence perpetrated by male colleagues and teachers, illustrating the reverberations of sexist and patriarchal discourses and practices of Brazilian society. Thus, the university is not immune to gender inequality and needs to foster new discussions on the subject to combat and confront violence against women.
