Between Couples From The Perspective of Male Victims of TheiTheir Partners in Brazil

In order to study the IPV about men also, this research aimed to analyze IPV`s data against men perpetrated by his woman partner in the city of Juiz de Fora-MG, Brazil. A self-applied semi-structured questionnaire were used for sample tracking, a sociodemographic questionnaire and individual interviews, which were recorded and transcribed. After three months of the semistructured questionnaire application at the clinical psychology service at Federal University of Juiz de Fora, 22 men were founded; of those 11 were victims of IPV however only eight accepted to take part of this study. For analysis, descriptive statistics and content analysis of Bardin (2011) were used. The results suggest the psychological violence as the most common suffered aggression following by physical violence. Relational affective problems, embracing motivations and socio-economic problems were mentioned as the main motivators of IPV. Furthermore, only 38.46% of male victims asked for help, and 62.50% said that they are still in contact with his aggressor. This study, visualized that violence perpetrated by woman against his partner in Juiz de Fora exists. Also were found that the interviewees had difficulties in talking about his experienced IPV, new studies about the IPV against men in Brazil are needed, once there are few studies in this country.
